Reto – Terms and Conditions of Use
Effective Date: [Insert Date] | Last Updated: [Insert Date]
These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the Reto mobile application (“Reto,” “the App,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). By downloading, accessing, creating an account, subscribing, or using the App in any way, you agree to be legally bound by these Terms.
If you do not agree to these Terms, you must not use the App.
1. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old to use Reto.
By using the App, you confirm that you are legally permitted to enter into binding agreements under applicable law.
Reto is currently intended for users located in the Republic of the Philippines unless otherwise stated.
2. Account Registration & Identity Verification (KYC)
Users are required to create an account using a valid email address or Google sign-in.
Reto requires Know Your Customer (KYC) identity verification, which may include:
• Government-issued identification
• Real-time selfie verification
Reto takes reasonable measures to verify user identity to help maintain a safe community. However, KYC verification confirms identity documents only — it does not guarantee the character, intentions, behavior, or trustworthiness of any user. Verified status must not be interpreted as an endorsement or safety guarantee by Reto.
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials.
3. Nature and Scope of Reto's Service
Reto is a blind dating and events concierge platform. We introduce users based on algorithmic compatibility, stated preferences, and availability — and we assist in organizing, curating, and reserving date experiences and events on your behalf.
Reto's role is limited to facilitating introductions and acting as a concierge for curated dates and events. This includes recommending venues, making reservations, and coordinating date logistics where applicable. We are a concierge — not a matchmaking agency, relationship counselor, or guardian.
Reto does not:
• Guarantee matches, chemistry, attraction, compatibility, or any relationship outcome
• Monitor, supervise, or control in-person interactions between users
• Assume responsibility for what happens before, during, or after any meeting or date arranged through the App
Once users agree to meet, all interactions, decisions, and conduct occurring outside the App are entirely the responsibility of the individual users involved.
4. Explicit Limitation of Liability for Matches, Meet-Ups & Dates
This section is critically important. Please read it carefully.
Reto is not liable — under any circumstances — for any untoward incident, harm, injury, loss, or damage arising from or in connection with:
• Any match or introduction made through the App
• Any communication between users within or outside the App
• Any in-person meeting, date, event, or interaction arranged or facilitated through the App
• The conduct, behavior, intentions, or actions of any other user
This includes, but is not limited to:
• Physical injury, assault, harassment, or violence
• Sexual misconduct or abuse
• Emotional or psychological distress
• Property damage or theft
• Financial loss or fraud
• Any criminal act committed by another user
While Reto implements identity verification and community safeguards, we do not and cannot control how users behave, communicate, or act — whether inside the App or in the real world. Safeguards reduce risk; they do not eliminate it.
Each user is solely responsible for:
• Exercising personal judgment and caution when communicating with other users
• Deciding whether, when, and where to meet another user in person
• Conducting their own due diligence regarding the person they are meeting
• Ensuring their personal safety at all times
By using Reto, you expressly acknowledge and accept that:
• You meet other users entirely at your own risk
• Reto's role ends at the point of introduction and date reservation
• No feature of the App — including KYC verification, compatibility scores, or in-app messaging — constitutes a guarantee of safety
5. User Safety Guidelines
Reto strongly encourages all users to follow these safety practices:
• Always meet in well-lit, public places for initial dates
• Tell a trusted friend or family member where you are going, who you are meeting, and when you expect to return
• Arrange your own transportation — do not rely on your date for a ride initially
• Trust your instincts — if something feels wrong, leave immediately
• Do not share sensitive personal information (home address, workplace, financial details) until you feel fully confident in the other person
• Do not consume food or drinks you have not seen prepared or poured yourself
• Report any suspicious or unsafe behavior immediately via the in-app reporting feature
🚨 Emergency Numbers (Philippines)
These are accessible directly within the Reto App at all times:

6. Zero-Tolerance Policy
Reto maintains a strict zero-tolerance policy toward individuals who pose a risk to community safety.
The following conduct and histories are grounds for permanent removal from Reto:
• Sexual offense, misconduct, or predatory behavior of any kind
• Violent behavior, including but not limited to assault, battery, domestic violence, or threatening conduct
• Human trafficking, exploitation, or abuse
• Stalking, harassment, or intimidation of any user
6.1 How Reports Are Handled
Reto does not have direct access to government criminal registries or law enforcement databases. We rely on reports submitted by users and the community to identify unsafe individuals.
Any user may report another user for conduct falling under this policy via the in-app reporting feature.
All reports are treated seriously and are subject to Reto's internal verification process, which may include reviewing available evidence, communications, and any supporting documentation provided by the reporting user.
Upon validation of a report, the reported user's account will be immediately and permanently blocked from the Reto platform, with no refund of any subscription fees.
Reto reserves the right to determine, at its sole discretion, whether a report has been sufficiently substantiated to warrant account action.
6.2 User Declaration
By creating an account, you expressly represent and warrant that you have not committed, and are not currently engaged in, any form of sexual offense, violent conduct, exploitation, or harassment.
6.3 Law Enforcement Cooperation
Reto cooperates fully with law enforcement authorities in any investigation involving user safety or criminal conduct. Where legally required or where there is credible risk to safety, Reto may disclose relevant user information to the appropriate authorities.
6.4 Limitation of Screening Capability
Reto's KYC verification confirms identity only. We do not have access to criminal records, sex offender registries, or law enforcement databases. Verification does not constitute a background check or a guarantee of any user's character or history. Each user must exercise their own judgment and caution at all times.
7. Photo, Content & Intellectual Property
7.1 Your Content
You retain ownership of any photos, images, text, or other content (“User Content”) you upload to the App.
By uploading User Content, you grant Reto a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide, sublicensable license to use, display, reproduce, and distribute your User Content solely within the App for the purpose of operating and improving the service (e.g., displaying your profile photo to matched users).
This license ends when you delete the content or close your account, subject to reasonable technical processing timelines.
7.2 Prohibited Content
You must not upload content that:
• Depicts nudity, sexual acts, or explicit material
• Belongs to another person without their consent
• Infringes any third-party intellectual property rights
• Contains false, misleading, or deceptive representations of yourself
7.3 Reto's Intellectual Property
All trademarks, logos, app design, features, and proprietary technology belonging to Reto remain the exclusive property of Reto. You may not copy, reproduce, or use them without prior written consent.
8. Matching & Compatibility
Matches are generated using automated systems based on user-provided information and stated preferences.
Compatibility scores are not guarantees of safety, attraction, suitability, or success.
If Reto is unable to provide a match due to user-selected restrictions or preferences, users may modify their preferences at any time.
Reto does not guarantee a minimum number of matches beyond those explicitly stated in a subscription plan.
9. Subscriptions & Payments
Reto offers free and paid subscription tiers.
Paid subscriptions renew automatically unless canceled through the applicable app store prior to the renewal date.
Payments are processed via third-party providers (e.g., Google Play, Apple App Store, GCash, Maya).
Reto does not store full payment card details.
Refunds are governed by Google Play Store and Apple App Store policies. Reto does not issue refunds directly unless required by applicable law.
By confirming a paid date or reservation, you authorize Reto to charge or deduct applicable fees — including the No-Show Fee described in Section 12 — from your payment method on file, in addition to any subscription charges.
10. User Conduct & Community Standards
Users agree to behave responsibly, honestly, and respectfully at all times. You must not:
• Harass, threaten, bully, stalk, or abuse other users
• Engage in discriminatory, predatory, manipulative, or inappropriate behavior
• Misrepresent your identity, age, physical appearance, or intentions
• Use the App to solicit money, gifts, loans, investments, or financial assistance from other users
• Engage in illegal, immoral, or unethical conduct of any kind
• Share explicit, non-consensual, or harmful content
• Use the App for commercial solicitation, spam, or any non-dating purpose
Reto is built on consent, respect, and personal boundaries. Violations of these standards may result in immediate account suspension or permanent ban.
11. Financial Transactions Between Users
Users must not engage in financial transactions with other users through or as a result of the App.
Requests for money, loans, gifts, investments, or financial assistance are strictly prohibited.
Reto is not liable for any financial losses arising from user-to-user transactions or financial scams.
12. Dates, Events & Reservations
Reto may assist in organizing, curating, and reserving dates, events, and experiences as part of its concierge service. This may include venue recommendations, reservation management, and event coordination.
Users are responsible for paying participating establishments directly unless otherwise stated in the specific plan or promotion.
Reto is not liable for venue issues, cancellations, third-party service failures, or any incidents occurring at reserved venues.
Reto's facilitation of a date reservation does not constitute supervision, endorsement, or assumption of responsibility for that date.
13. No-Show Policy
Reto is committed to providing a respectful and reliable dating experience. Attending a confirmed date, or cancelling with reasonable notice, is a basic expectation of the community.
A “No-Show” occurs when a user:
• Fails to attend a confirmed date without prior cancellation, or
• Cancels a confirmed date less than twelve (12) hours before the scheduled date and time
Reto reserves the right to investigate any reported or suspected No-Show. During the investigation, Reto may review information reasonably available to it, including user reports, communications made through the platform, timestamps, booking records, and any supporting evidence submitted by the parties.
If, based on the available information, Reto determines that a user was responsible for a No-Show without a valid reason, Reto may, at its sole discretion:
• Apply the No-Show Fee, consisting of the forfeiture of any amount already paid for that date, deducted from the user's payment method on file
• Suspend or terminate the user's account
• Take any other action permitted under these Terms
As with other account actions described in these Terms, Reto's determination is made based on information reasonably available to it and does not constitute a guarantee of any user's conduct or intentions.
Users who believe a No-Show determination was made in error may request a review in accordance with Section 15 (Account Suspension & Termination).
14. Messaging & Communications
In-app messaging is time-limited and may be monitored for safety and policy compliance purposes.
Users are solely responsible for deciding whether to share personal contact information outside the App.
Reto does not guarantee message delivery, retention, or privacy beyond what is described in the Privacy Policy.
15. Ratings, Feedback & Reports
Users may provide feedback on experiences and report misconduct via the App.
Reto reserves the right to investigate reports at its sole discretion and take action accordingly.
False, malicious, or retaliatory reports may result in account action against the reporting user.
16. Account Suspension & Termination
Reto reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to:
• Suspend or permanently terminate accounts
• Issue formal warnings
• Remove users deemed unfit for the community
• Apply a No-Show Fee in accordance with Section 13
Users who believe an account action was taken in error may contact Reto Support within seven (7) days of notification to request a review. Reto will review the information provided and communicate its final decision. Outside of this window, or absent a timely request for review, decisions are final and not subject to further appeal unless otherwise required by law.
17. Disclaimer of Warranties
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law:
• Reto provides the App “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, express or implied
• Reto does not warrant that the App will be error-free, uninterrupted, or free from harmful components
• Reto does not warrant the accuracy or completeness of any user-provided information
18. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by Philippine law:
• Reto's total aggregate liability to any user shall not exceed the amount paid by that user to Reto in the three (3) months preceding the claim
• Reto is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages of any kind
• This limitation applies regardless of the form of action and even if Reto has been advised of the possibility of such damages
19. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Reto, its affiliates, officers, directors, employees, and partners from any and all claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from:
• Your use of or access to the App
• Your interactions with other users, whether in-app or in person
• Your violation of these Terms
• Any harm you cause to another user or third party
20. Modifications to These Terms
Reto may update these Terms at any time. We will notify users of material changes via the App or email. Continued use of the App following notice of changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms.
21. Governing Law & Dispute Resolution
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of the Philippines, without regard to conflict of law principles.
Any disputes arising from these Terms or use of the App shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the appropriate courts in the Philippines.
